Mrs. Mitchell's Tribes

The students all have their regional Native American tribe assigned to them.  They will be using shoe boxes to display their villages.  They will need to show what they ate, what kind of house they lived in, and also the environment for the region.  They will have a couple of weeks to work on this.  Can't wait to see them and display them out in the hallway.

If your child didn't complete their lesson 3 Social Studies sheet today, they will need to finish that for Monday.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

We took our math acuity test today.  You might want to ask your child what their score out of 30 was.  We are working SOOOOOOOOOOOO hard to master our math skills.  I am confident that by the time we take our test, we will be where we want to be.  Please hang in there with us and keep going over the CHALLENGING homework/calendar math, the computation practice in Saxon, and those pesky multiplication facts.

Coming Soon:  Native American Shoebox Village
We will become experts in the Northwestern Tlingit tribe, the Northeastern Woodlands Iroquois, the Southwest Hopi tribe, and the Plains Cheyenne.  Our shoeboxes will depict a typical village in each of the regions.  I will be assigning which region your child will be creating.  If some students want to work together, they may, but I will be limited as to how much in class time they will have to put it together.  They would need to either go to each others' houses, or use their recess time at school.  I will see if we can assign those tribes tomorrow to give you extra time to work on it.  I am hoping to have the exhibit finished two weeks from tomorrow for our hallway.
