Last day to order books is tomorrow. Also, if you wanted to order a hoodie, please let me know by Friday so that I can get that one time only order in to A+ Printing.
Please take a look at the Morning Message papers I sent home today. The students write my "Morning Message" from the white board, correcting any mistakes they find. Then we go over together as a whole group. They are allowed to correct any mistakes that they missed (in red pen). These mistakes are not counted in their grade. If they correct all their mistakes, they receive the full ten points for that letter. The response back letter is also worth ten points. I am checking for the skills we just reviewed...not spelling, etc... I will be taking up the notebooks again on Friday. That will include Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday's letters. We discussed today the possibility of alternating with the older version of Daily Language sheets. (Their suggestion...not mine.) I like the fact that this is applying what they are learning in a connected, real-life situation. We'll see how it goes. If you have an opinion, you are more than welcome to join in on the conversation.
Also, some confusion on spelling practice tests. They are not to be written on the spelling workbook pages (even though that is how the workbook pages were designed.) Instead, please just use your regular lined paper, give the test as I will on Wednesday, check it, and correct any mistakes two times each. Tomorrow is when the workbook pages are due. If you used the front paper for practice test, just write them again one time each either on that paper or your own.
Math sheet homework/ has lesson 10 from Saxon's practice on the back.
Most students finished their Red Hot Words (SUB / TRANS root word sheet). If not, please finish and return tomorrow.
We are putting up our self-portraits for Thursday night. If your child did not finish, please do so and return tomorrow.
Only 4 Monarchs left on the bench on our reading Super Bowl challenge. ALL readers should have a minimum of one hour already/ two by next Monday. Please encourage at least 20 minutes per night.
